Turmeric Detox Rice

This recipe is full of detoxifying herbs and spices, boosting the immune system whilst also providing nutrients to the body and healing the gut. It works on detoxifying the liver, promoting the removal of toxins and fat cells.
- 3 cups brown rice
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (or ground cumin)
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1-2 cloves of crushed raw garlic
- 1 large handful chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- sea salt and pepper to taste
Soak and rinse 3 cups of brown rice and cook in a large saucepan (or your preferred method). When rice is cooked, mix through turmeric powder, black pepper, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, crushed raw garlic, grated ginger, coconut oil, chopped fresh parsley, sea salt and pepper to taste.
It is a great accompaniment to your favourite protein source, such as grass fed beef, chicken or fresh salmon.
